RADIO TAXIS GROUP AWARDED 2 BIG TICKS!
Radio Taxis Group, London’s leading black cab company, has been recognised for their environmental commitment by scooping two Big Ticks at the London & South East Business in the Community Awards.
The Awards for Excellence are the most prestigious responsibility awards in the UK. Rigorously assessed and independently assured the awards are powerful benchmarks of good corporate practice. The Awards, now in their ninth year, recognise companies for integrating responsible business practice into their mainstream operations resulting in a positive impact in the marketplace, environment, community and workplace.
Radio Taxis’ Managing Director, Andrew Herbert picked up the EDF Energy Environmental Impact Award and the Impact on Society Award for Small Companies at the ceremony held at Merrill Lynch London on 12th June.
The first award was presented for Radio Taxis Group Ltd’s efforts on reducing their impact on the environment through recycling schemes and reducing their energy use. In receiving the award for their impact on society, the judges noted the Group’s true commitment to becoming accessible to disabled people, in line with the Disability Discrimination Act. The Group was previously awarded Scope’s Access Equality award for the Radio Taxis fleet being 100% accessible and the Disability Equality Training their drivers receive which means they know how to meet the needs of disabled passengers.
Says Andrew Herbert, Managing Director of the Radio Taxis Group, “We are very proud to have won these awards which recognise the company as a leading innovator in its industry with regards to climate change and its environmental and social impact.”
