Radio Taxis Group recognised with prestigious CSR award.

World’s first CarbonNeutral® transport provider wins at CIMA Financial Management Awards

Radio Taxis Group Limited, the UK’s leading ground transportation services supplier, has been announced as the winner of the CIMA Financial Management Awards’ prestigious Corporate Social Responsibility award.

The ceremony, held at The Riverbank Park Plaza Hotel in London, is an annual event celebrating key players in the financial management sector and honouring individuals and companies who have been instrumental in developing the industry.

In a highly competitive category, Radio Taxis Group was commended for the success of its CarbonNeutral® programme and its balance between social and corporate impact. The judges were further impressed by the strategy underpinning the project, establishing a clear business link between the cost of offsets against media coverage and new business won as a result of the company’s raised profile.

Radio Taxis Group announced in March 2005 that it would be offsetting all of the emissions from its London offices and from its 3,000 strong fleet of taxis, executive limousines, private hire vehicles and couriers. Over the course of last year the company spent £100,000 in projects ranging from solar home lighting in India and Sri Lanka, to micro-hydro power generation in Bulgaria, to tree planting in Scotland.

Gordon Brown, Financial Controller of Radio Taxis Group commented:

"We are delighted to have won the CIMA Financial Management CSR award. It is a reflection of all of the work that Radio Taxis Group puts into its programmes, be they with our clients or staff, local communities, or the environment.

We are proud of our position as an industry leader on Corporate Social Responsibility issues and they will continue to be central to our approach. We strive to be the type of company that people and businesses feel good about, and which gives back to the community it both serves and is dependent upon."

Charles Tilley, Chief Executive of CIMA said:

"Radio Taxis Group has adopted an ambitious project to offset their carbon emissions and in doing so, has become the first CarbonNeutral® company in their industry. We commend their efforts."
